Privacy Policy for TrimCargo
TrimCargo is a suite of Android, iOS and Windows draft-survey, hold-trimming and loading-limit tools for marine cargo professionals. This policy explains what data the apps handle, where it is stored and the choices available to you.
1. Summary in plain language
- Vessel, voyage, survey and calculation data is stored locally by default.
- TrimCargo Cloud is optional. Only a vessel and voyage you explicitly select is uploaded.
- The apps contain no advertising, behavioural analytics or cross-app tracking.
- Photos, survey videos, reports and source code are not uploaded to TrimCargo Cloud.
- You can delete local records and request deletion of cloud account data.
2. Data the apps handle
The apps process information you enter or capture to perform draft-survey and cargo calculations. This can include vessel particulars and hydrostatics; survey readings and deductions; draft-mark photos; silent Slo-Mo survey video and observation pairs; voyage and cargo records; app preferences; trial or purchase status; and files you explicitly import or export.
If you use an optional cloud account, the service processes your email address, user identifier, registered-device identifier, platform, device display name, app version and last-seen time. Selected cloud workspaces contain the chosen vessel Master CSV, voyage archive data, revision information, update time and source-device identifier.
3. Storage and transfers
Operational data is stored inside the app’s private storage on your device. It leaves the device only when you choose an export, share or cloud-upload action. On Android, retained Slo-Mo recordings may be saved in Movies/TrimCargo and remain there after uninstall until you delete them.
Optional cloud account and workspace records are hosted by Supabase in its Oceania region. Access controls restrict each workspace record to its owning signed-in account.
4. Permissions
- Camera: used only when you choose a draft-reading or survey-recording action.
- Photo or video picker: grants access only to the item you select.
- Biometric authentication: optional; biometric templates remain in the device’s secure hardware.
- Document and storage pickers: used for the individual archive, CSV or report you select.
- Internet: used for store purchase checks and optional TrimCargo account or cloud actions.
TrimCargo does not request location, contacts, microphone, calendar, call-log or SMS access.
5. On-device processing
OpenCV and on-device text-recognition or camera frameworks process draft imagery locally. Standard platform libraries provide the interface, camera and media functions. Google Play or Apple processes store purchases; TrimCargo receives only the transaction state and identifiers needed to grant or restore access, not payment-card details.
6. Portable records
Voyages can be exported as AES-256-GCM encrypted .draftar archives. Vessel Master CSV exports are readable and should be protected as operational vessel data. You choose where these files are saved or shared.
7. No advertising or profiling
TrimCargo does not include advertising, Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, Crashlytics, Facebook SDK or similar profiling tools. It is intended for adult marine professionals and does not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal or operational data. Supabase processes optional account and selected cloud-workspace data solely to provide authentication and transfer features. Apple, Google or Microsoft processes store transactions under its own terms. Camera evidence and manually exported files are not part of the cloud-workspace payload.
9. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete the record, reset the app’s data or uninstall the app, subject to operating-system backups you control. Cloud records remain until deleted, subject to limited backup and security retention. Deleting a cloud account does not automatically remove local copies on your devices.

10. Security
TrimCargo uses the operating-system application sandbox, authenticated encryption for voyage archives, protected session storage and HTTPS for network traffic. Optional cloud workspaces use row-level access rules. No security model is perfect; keep your device locked and install software only from trusted sources.
11. Your rights
You can inspect, change and export supported local records inside the apps. Privacy rights for optional account data depend on your location. Contact us from the account email address to exercise an applicable access, correction, export or deletion right.
12. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when features, platforms or legal requirements change. The latest public version will remain available at this address.
